Quest Ceramics Private Limited was incorporated in a humble way in 1982 initiated by Mr. Shyamal Sur, Director, also a Director of reputed Sur Group of Companies in Kolkata, who did his MS from Stanford University and worked in Canada for quite a few years. Since inception the primary idea was to cater to the requirements for components needing high level precision achieved by diamond machining and lapping rather than going in for bulk produced items. The users of the produced items include Bharat Electronics Limited, BARC, TBRL (Ministry of Defence), Centre for Advanced Technology, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, etc.
